For an Australia we can all call home.

Who We Are

Women’s Welfare Australia is a non-profit organisation that supports the settlement of migrant and refugee women and youth residing in NSW.

We aim to alleviate the suffering, misfortune, helplessness, distress and poverty facing some newly arrived migrants and refugees by providing unique, culturally appropriate services.

We are focused on creating connections between these communities – establishing a sense of belonging, and support networks, strengthening mental health and well-being and providing a safe environment for refugee and migrant women and youth to thrive, learn, settle and connect.

We also offer access and programs to the essential tools and support services required for their smooth integration and successful settlement into society.

Our Focus

  • Building capacity for individuals and families - to meet their needs - through training, education, connection, and peer support.

  • Recognising the hardships of newly arrived migrants and refugees.

  • Providing unique, culturally appropriate services and referring refugees and migrants needing necessary services.

  • Developing necessary youth programs targeting children and adolescents - to address the lack of youth activities and engagement with refugee communities.

  • Consulting with government agencies, community organisations and leaders to co-create necessary programs that achieve the above.

  • Providing emotional and mental health support and awareness to assist refugees and new migrants who have experienced hardship, conflict and life-threatening situations.

  • Create training and employment opportunities for refugee and migrant women to upskill and seamlessly enter the workforce.

  • Creating a long-lasting sense of community and belonging and a safe environment for women and youth to bond and form support systems and social networks.

We are dedicated to improving the settlement experience of refugee and migrant women and youth and advancing an Australia where they have equal opportunities to live, work and play.

An Australia we can call home.
